It’s no coincidence that only a few months after Albany’s One Party Rule controlling the Assembly, the Senate and the Governor’s office pushed through the disastrous bail reform, violent crime has risen and shootings have tripled year-over-year in NYC for the past week alone.
This carnage is ravaging communities across our state, from Syracuse to Rochester, Buffalo and more, but New York City is being hit the hardest by far.
In the midst of a crippling pandemic and surge in violent crime, the same NYC-led One Party Rule is focused on defunding the the NYPD rather than protecting law-abiding citizens or passing any meaningful reforms to help build stronger communities.
That’s why I need your help to fight these misguided and dangerous policies.
I need your help to stand up for those who put their lives on the line to protect our communities and keep New Yorkers safe.
The kind of widespread lawlessness we’re seeing is exactly what happens when so-called “leadership” puts criminals ahead of law-abiding citizens.
Where are these so-called leaders?
Rather than acknowledge the crisis that they themselves orchestrated, NYC Mayor DeBlasio is trying blame the judicial system.
Governor Cuomo is satisfied to simply sit on his hands while remaining “concerned.” Doesn’t he remember all the credit he took for pushing through the “toughest gun control laws” in the nation in the dead of night?
We need to stop their efforts to #DefundthePolice and start working to #DefundOnePartyRule.
But I need your help.
Our next fundraising deadline only a few days away - July 11th, and I’m respectfully asking for your support as we take this fight to Albany by donating $5, $10, $25 or whatever you feel is appropriate.
With your help we can continue to fight tooth-and-nail against these misguided policies and fight for balance in state government before things get worse.
No matter what One Party Rule comes up with next, I’ll continue to tirelessly advocate for the people I proudly represent across the 52nd Senate District.
I’d sincerely appreciate your support this year through a contribution of $5, $10 or $25 today.
Sincerely,
Fred Akshar
