Senator Fred Akshar Endorsed by
Business Groups, Labor and First Responders
For Immediate Release:
November 2, 2018
Although running unopposed this election cycle, Senator Fred Akshar has received over a dozen endorsements from advocacy groups ranging from Business Council of New York State, to the New York State AFL-CIO, to Police Benevolent Association of New York State.
Senator Fred Akshar said, “I am both humbled and proud to receive the support of business groups, labor groups, first responders and advocates from both sides of the political aisle. As State Senator, I represent all of the people of the 52nd Senate District, no matter their political persuasion. I've done my best to listen and learn about every side of the many issues we face and work toward compromises to obtain tangible results for our community. It's only by working together that we were able to accomplish Workers' Compensation Reform to save New York businesses over $1 billion and bring new and expanded treatment locally to combat the heroin and opioid scourge both locally and statewide. I pledge to continue to work with any organization that's willing to put the needs of the people before politics.”
While Akshar does not have an opponent, he's not taking this year's election season for granted.
“Since the first day I took office, my team and I have worked extremely hard every day to serve the people of Broome, Tioga, Chenango and Delaware Counties,” said Akshar. “Opponent or not, we will continue to work just as hard and earn every single vote through Election Day and beyond.”
